The site is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain and the Oudekraal National Reserve with the 12 Apostles as a backdrop. The design maximises North West sea views through strategic window and balcony placement. Wind protection from the dominant South East wind was a core consideration, addressed through building positioning, windbreaks, landscaping and robust material selection. The concept is a steel box with a raised bedroom wing sitting over a concrete box for the living and entertainment spaces — the elevated wing maximises the garden and outdoor space while providing privacy and separation.
