DESCRIPTION
In this project, the exploration of contemporary row-house architecture is a central focus. Situated on the upper slopes of Table Mountain, the development embraces a design that promotes an active and engaging street edge, uninterrupted by vehicular access and an emphasis on private gardens and pedestrian access.
The private garages are accessed from a shared drive-aisle, providing a practical solution for parking while maintaining a cohesive streetscape. By consolidating vehicle access, the design minimises the impact of individual driveways and creates a more unified and aesthetically pleasing streetscape. This arrangement allows for private gardens to extend along the street edge, enhancing the greenery and contributing to the overall character of the development.
Importantly, the layout provides pedestrian-friendly features, as each house has its own front door entrance directly accessible from the sidewalk. This design approach encourages pedestrian interaction and engagement, creating a sense of community and enhancing the overall livability of the development. It also allows for easy access to the individual residences, promoting a sense of convenience and connectivity.
By integrating these design elements, the project offers a contemporary expression of row-house architecture.
